Jim Green is board certified as a civil trial lawyer by the Florida Bar Board of Certification and the National Board of Trial Advocates. He is a member of the Escambia-Santa Rosa Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the Academy of Florida Trial Lawyers (State Board of Directors, 2003-2006), the American Board of Trial Advocates (Chapter President, 2004), the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, the American Inns of Court and the Florida Justice Association, where he has held a board position for the past several years.
His peers honored him with the prestigious AV® Rating in the Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory, earning him a listing in the Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers. This directory includes only those select lawyers who have earned this highest possible rating. It states that a lawyer "has reached the height of professional excellence. He or she has usually practiced law for many years, and is recognized for the highest levels of skill and integrity."
Jim is licensed to practice law before all Florida state courts, the United States District Court for the Northern District of Florida, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.
Jim received his undergraduate degree from Eastern Michigan University in 1968, and, after six years of flying U.S. Navy Phantoms and three years in a Naval Reserve intelligence unit while attending law school (highest attained rank of lieutenant commander), he received his law degree from the University of Tulsa in 1977.
Upon graduation, Jim was awarded the Order of the Curule Chair, the highest academic honor bestowed by the university, which is limited to the top ten students. While at law school, he was a member of the University of Tulsa Law Journal, and a member of Phi Delta Phi honorary legal fraternity.
Jim has tried over 100 cases to jury verdict and has successfully litigated product liability cases against many manufacturers for defective products involving rollovers, roof crush, seat back failure, and seat belt failure. He also specializes in estate litigation including will contests and undue influence cases.
He has handled cases in Alaska, New Mexico, South Carolina, Mississippi, Louisiana, Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, Illinois, and Florida. Jim presently limits his practice to product liability, personal injury/wrongful death and, probate litigation (will contests and undue influence cases).
Brad Bradford has been an accomplished lawyer since 1999 and a partner at Green & Bradford since 2004. He is a member of the Florida Justice Association, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, the Escambia-Santa Rosa County Bar Association, and First Circuit Trial Lawyers Association. He is currently serving as the President of the local chapter of the Florida Justice Association. Born in Gadsden, Alabama, Brad received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of South Alabama in 1995, and his law degree from the University of Alabama School of Law in 1999.
Admitted to the bar in both Florida and Alabama, Brad specializes in will contests and undue influence, personal injury, and product liability. He is also licensed to practice law before the United States District Court for the Northern District and the Middle District of Florida, as well as the Southern District of Alabama.
Green & Bradford is proud to welcome James R. Green Jr. Jim graduated from the Florida State College of Law with honors in 2007. During law school Jim served as Articles Editor for the Florida State Law Review and as Professor Charles W. Ehrhardt's research assistant. He also clerked for the Central Staff of the First District Court of Appeal. Jim is a member of the Florida Justice Association and the American Inns of Court.
As Professor Ehrhardt's research assistant, Jim helped edit the 2007 edition of his book Florida Evidence, a book that has been cited several hundred times by Florida's Supreme Court and District Courts of Appeal. Jim also served as Professor Dan Markel's research assistant doing research and editing work for Professor Markel's forthcoming trio of articles providing a retributive justification for punitive damages. Additionally, Jim booked Professor Ehrhadt's Evidence class and Professor Tahirih Lee's Advanced Civil Procedure class.
Jim has been admitted to the Bar in Florida. Jim will be working primarily on personal injury and estate litigation cases. He will also handle Social Security hearings.
